I’m Belmiro Mendes…
I’m a free surfer and founder of the Salty project. I was born in the beautiful village of Jardim do Mar, right here in Madeira Island.
I have a degree in Tourism and I’m also a surfing instructor certify by the Portuguese Surfing Federation.
I have been surfing for almost 20 years now, (almost since I remember)… and over the last 14 years I also dedicate my time giving surf lessons.
And I’m also lucky and proud enough to tell you that I’ve been Madeira Surfing Champion for seven times now.
Water is my life, having fun and sharing all I love is my philosophy!
Because, things feel even better when you have the privilege to share what you love with people around you, and that’s what Salty is all about.
My goal is to share with you all this spirit of adventure, this love that I feel for the ocean and also this beautiful paradise that I am lucky enough to call home, all in one! So, let’s find out if you have what it takes to get really ‘salty’!
